About Me

ON THE REAL

Hi. I’m Amanda, but you can call me Am for short. I grew up in a smallish town in Ohio and moved out to California about 7 years ago. I am a wife, stepmom, dog mom, RRCA coach, runner, yogi, adventurer, health connoisseur, fashion lover and people professional.

I find inspiration easily and I use it to fuel my everyday. I am in pursuit of being the best version of my authentic self. Similar to you, I am navigating the journey of life and wanted to share it in hopes that you will also share it with me.

The really, real: I work full-time (roughly 8-10 hours a day) for a global company in the craft of human resources. My husband and I recently got married (check back soon for a recap of our wedding day) and I’m so thankful to now be a stepmom to two amazing kids (ages 7 and 11). We’ve always had a dog – Yukon (our 5 year old great Pyrenees) and recently added Charlotte (our 11 month old Golden Retriever) to the family. Balancing work and family is hard because my husband and I both work full-time, but through our support for each other, we make it work! I am a RRCA certified running coach and lover of running. I have run several full marathons (12, I think?) and still going. Two years ago, I discovered I have Celiac disease among some other health challenges. Transitioning my diet to gluten free, (cow) dairy-free and nightshade free was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It’s also sparked a passion for food and cooking. Five years ago, I developed and still lead a Leadership Program through a local non-profit organization, Teens Run Modesto.

Check out my post on why i started a blog.
